Goals of “Staying on the Good Side of the BBS”
This workshop is designed to give attendees an overview of the licensing board complaint and investigation process and educate licensees and associates about the statutory powers that the BBS has so that misconduct can be avoided.
In terms of goals, attendees will be able to:
- Describe the complaint mechanism process for the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Discuss the 25 ways that licensees and associates can get into trouble with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Explain the differences between a Citation and an Accusation/Statement of Issues.
- Identify the "things" licensees and associates can do to stay on the good side of the BBS

Three Levels of Law & Ethics: 10:15-10:30
Statutory/Regulatory Concepts of Unprofessional Conduct: 10:30-12:00

Arrival time for this event: 8:30am-8:55am -- we will help people join our chapter on the spot before workshop, at the break, or after the workshop.

This course meets the qualifications for six hours of continuing education credits for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and/or LEPs as required by the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Completion of this course earns a discount on liability insurance. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the workshop.
The Central Coast Chapter of CAMFT is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for MFTs, Associates and students, MSWs, LEPs and LPCCs. The Central Coast Chapter of CAMFT maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.
